George Turney Carothers was born May 31, 1871 at Kimbolton, Guer​nsey, Ohio to

Samuel E​dward Carothers (March 24, 1826 Down, Ireland to May 28, 1902 
Kimbolton, Ohio) and El​iza Ann Keowan (July 13, 1838 Ireland to November 30,

1925 Kimbolton, Ohio). George was the 7th of 8 children. His siblings were: 
Margaret Elizabeth, William John, Martha Ann, Benjamin Robert, Matthew Douglas, 
Mary Josephine and Samuel Edward.

Found in the 1880 and 1900 censuses living at Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio: 
1880: Samuel Carothers 51, Elisabeth A. Carothers 41, Benjamin R. Carothers 15, 
Mathew D. Carothers 13, Mary J. Carothers 13, George F. Carothers 9, Samuel E. 
Carothers 7. 
1900: Samuel Corothers 74, Eliza Corothers 61, George T Corothers 29, Samuel E 
Corothers 26.

George marrie​d Etta Jane Phelps on December 14, 1905 at Guernsey, Ohio 
(Etta Jane Phelps born 1884 Ohio, died November 5, 1959 Kimbolton, Guernsey, 
Ohio). 

The couple had 3 sons: 
Samuel Edward Carothers (born October 13, 1906 Kimbolton, died July 27 1972 
Cambridge, Guernsey, Ohio); 

Leonard Patterson Carothers (born June 30, 1908 Kimbolton, married Ruth 
Elizabeth Umstott September 23, 1938 Kimbolton, died December 28, 1985 
Tuscarawas, Ohio) and 

William Glen Carothers (born April 24, 1916 Guernsey, Ohio, died June 15, 1961 
Guernsey, Ohio).

Family found in the 1910, 1920, 1930 censuses at Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio: 
1910: Eliza A Carothers 71, George T Carothers 39, Samuel E Carothers 35, Ettie 
J Carothers 26, Samuel E Carothers Jr 3, Leonard R Carothers 1 10/12[1]. 

1920: Eliza Carruthers 81, Samuel E Carruthers 45, George T Carruthers 47, Etta 
J Carruthers 36, Samuel E Carruthers 13, Leonard P Carruthers 11 (16], Wm G 
Carruthers 3( 3 8/12]. 

1930: Turney G Carrothers 58, Etta Carrothers 46, Sam E Carrothers 23, Leonard 
P Carrothers 21, Glen W Carrothers 13, Edward S Carrothers 56. 

George died​ November 25, 1960 Kimbolto​n, Guernsey, Ohio at the age of
89 years; 
he is bur​ied at the Kimbolton Cemetery, Kimbolton, Guernsey, Ohio. He was a 
farmer. 

Additional Comments:
Censuses transcribed as found, obvious spelling errors not corrected. The 
Carothers farm is still owned by family as it has been for generations.
