Margaret Jane Carothers was born September 26, 1850 at Mon​roe, Guernsey, Ohio

to William L. Carothers and​ Sarah Dales. She was the fifth of twelve
children. 
Her siblings were:John, William Dales, John II, George Patterson, Margaret 
Jane, James, Agnes E., Andrew Garfield, Samuel M, Sarah Ann, Martha and Mary.

Margaret married ​Alexander L. Davis on March ​20, 1877 at Guernsey,
​Ohio. 

The couple had 8 children:​ 
Mary Emily (born July 25, 1879 Guernsey, Ohio); 

Sarah Belle (born March 21, 1881 Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio, married James Gill 
Carothers Jan. 18, 1912 Guernsey, Ohio, died August 8, 1953 Cambridge, 
Guernsey, Ohio (couple were first cousins, once removed, no children); 

William​ J. ( born February 3, 1883 Guernsey, Ohio, died January 16, 1935
Iowa); 

Andrew Samuel (born May 25, 1885 Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio); 

George​ M. (born April 21, 1887 Guernsey, Ohio, died February 9, 1918); 

Nannie D. (born April 5, 1889 Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio, died November 21, 1979); 

John A​.(born October 12, 1891 Guernsey, Ohio, died February 13, 1955 same);
and 

Florence Margaret (born July 29, 1894 Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio, died March 5, 
1970).

Margaret Carothers Davis died October 25, 190​4 at Guernsey, Ohio and is
buried 
at Mount Hermon Cemetery, Knox, Guernsey, Ohio.
