Family research as of January 2012
Mary Josephine Carothers was born on May 17, 1867 near Kimbolton, Guernsey, 
Ohio to Samuel Edward Carothers and Eliza Ann Keown (Kiowan). Mary was a twin 
to her brother, Matthew Carothers. Their other siblings were: Margaret 
Elizabeth, William John, Martha Ann, Benjamin Robert, George Turney and Samuel 
Edward.

Mary grew up on the farm at Bird's Run, Guernsey, Ohio and met and married 
Gilbert Miller on December 17, 1889 (Gilbert born 1866 Ohio). 

The couple had 2 sons: 
Clyde W Miller (born September 22, 1890 Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio, married 
Victoria McCullough April 28, 1915 Cambridge, Ohio, died March 5, 1957 at same) 
& 
Don Raymond Miller (born October 29, 1901 Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio, died 
November 19, 1949 West Lafayette, Coshocton, Ohio). 

Found Mary Josephine in the 1870, 1880, 1910 and 1920 censuses living at 
Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio: 
1870: Samuel Carothers 42, Elizabeth Carothers 30, Margaret Carothers 13, 
William Carothers 10, Benjamine Carothers 6, Mary Carothers 3, Mathew Carothers 
3. 

1880: Samuel Carothers 51, Elisabeth A. Carothers 41, Benjamin R. Carothers 15, 
Mathew D. Carothers 13, Mary J. Carothers 13, George F. Carothers 9, Samuel E. 
Carothers 7. 

1910: Bert (Gilbert) Miller 44, Mary J Miller 42, Clyde W Miller 19, Don R 
Miller 8. 

1920: Mary, husband Gilbert and his brother John Miller age 49.

Mary Josephine Carothers Miller died May 3, 1943 at Guernsey, Ohio.

Censuses transcribed as found, obvious spelling errors were not corrected.
