Samuel M. Carothers was born September 24, 1860 at Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio to 
William L. Carothers and Sarah Dales. 

Found in the 1880 census living at Knox, Guernsey, Ohio: 
1880: Wm. Crothers 63, Sarah Crothers 59, Agness Crothers 24, James Crothers 
27, Samuel Crothers 19, Sarah Crothers 16, Mary H. Crothers 11. Samuel is 
farming. 

Married Myrtle Julia Eaton 1897 at probably Guernsey, Ohio.

Couple found in the 1900 census living at Knox, Guernsey, Ohio: Samuel Brothers 
(should be Carothers) 39, Myrtle J Crothers 24, Cecil E Crothers 2, Sarah A 
Crothers 5/12, Sarah Crothers 80 (Samuel's mother, Sarah Dales Carothers).

Samuel and Myrtle had 5 children: 
Cecil E (born July 1897 Ohio); Sarah A. (born December 1899 Ohio); Mary E. 
(born 1903 Ohio); William E. (born 1907 Ohio) and Robert (born 1913 Ohio).

Found in the 1910 census living at Washington, Tuscarawas, Ohio: Samuel M 
Carothers 48 (says born 1862), Myrtle Carothers 34, Cecil E Carothers 12, Sarah 
A Carothers 10, Mary E Carothers 7, William E Carothers 3. Farmer. 

Found in the 1920 census at Clay, Tuscarawas, Ohio: Samuel M Carothers 59, 
Myrtle Carothers 43, Cecil Carothers 22, Mary Carothers 16, William Carothers 
13, Robert Carothers 7. 

Samuel M. Carothers died March 14, 1933 at Randolph, West Virginia. Buried at 
Kimbolton Cemetery, Guernsey, Ohio.
