Family research as of 2012
William Glen (also found as Glenn William) Carothers was born on April 24, 1916 
at Liberty township, Guernsey County, Ohio to George Turney Carothers and Etta 
Jane Phelps. He was the third and youngest son; his two older brothers were: 
Samuel Edward Carothers and Leonard Patterson Carothers. 

William can be found in the 1910, 1920 & 1930 censuses living at Liberty, 
Guernsey, Ohio: 
1920: Eliza Carruthers 81, Samuel E Carruthers 45, George T Carruthers 47, Etta 
J Carruthers 36, Samuel E Carruthers 13, Leonard P Carruthers 11 (16], Wm G 
Carruthers 3( 3 8/12]. 

1930: Turney G Carrothers 58, Etta Carrothers 46, Sam E Carrothers 23, Leonard 
P Carrothers 21, Glen W Carrothers 13, Edward S Carrothers 56. 

Fought in WWII. 

Married Ida Wilma Umstott (daughter of Jasper Fred Umstott and Ida Myrtle 
Wilson) on December 17, 1949 at Guernsey, Ohio. Played violin. 

The couple had one son, Gary (born July 30, 1951 Ohio, died January 3, 2011). 

William Glenn Carothers died June 15, 1961 at Guernsey, Ohio. Buried at 
Northwood Cemetery in Guernsey, Ohio.
