John Alexander Davis was born October 12, 1891 at Libe​rty, Guernsey, Ohio
to​ 
Alexander L. Davis and​ Margaret Jane Carothe​rs, the seventh of their
eight 
children. 

Found in the 1900 census living at Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio: Alexander Davis 
47, Margarett Davis 45, Mary E Davis 20, Sarah B Davis 19, William J Davis 17, 
Samuel A Davis 15, George M Davis 13, Nannie M Davis 11, John A Davis 8, 
Maggie F Davis 6, Nancy Davis 67. 
Found in the 1910 census at Adams, Guernsey, Ohio, single. 

John married Ora Belle Durben on January 6, 1920 at Guernsey, Ohio. 

The couple had 3 children: 
Williard L Davis (1921 - 2011); 
Edith Belle Davis (1922 - 2009); 
Betty Jane Pontius (1931 - 1989).

Found in the 1930, 1940 censuses living at Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio: 
1930: John A Davis 38, Ora Davis 34, Williard L Davis 9, Edith B Davis 7. 
1940: John Davis 48, Ora Davis 44, Willard Davis 19, Edith Davis 16, Betty 
Jane Davis 8. 

John Alexander Davis died February 13, 1955 at Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio and was 
buried at the Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, Guernsey, Ohio.

Additional Comments:
Censuses transcribed as found without fixing spelling errors. 

Ora Belle Durben (John's wife) was born March 1896 Ohio and died November 15, 
1982 Cambridge, Guernsey, Ohio.
