Dawson, 50, of Cumberland Route 1, a prominent retired Muskingum County farmer and member of Muskingum County Fair Board was dead on arrival at Bethesda Hospital at 1:30 a.m. Sunday after suffering a heart attack at his home. Mr. Dawson was born in Byesville, March 13, 1914, a son of John and Rosa Howell Dawson. He had farmed most of his life in Muskingum County before his retirement and had driven school bus for East Muskingum School District 12 years. Mr. Dawson was serving his third term on the fair board at the time of his death. He was a member of Rix Mills United Presbyterian Church and Rich Hill Grange. Surviving are his widow, Bernice; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Cay) Bauserman of Cumberland Route 1 and Jackie of the home; three sons, Myron Dawson of Cumberland Route 1 and Logan and Clayton Dawson of the home; his mother, Mrs. John Dawson of of 403 La Salle street; two sisters, Mrs. William Thompson of 403 La Salle street and Miss Anna Mae Dawson of 47 South Fifth street; three brothers, Samuel Dawson of 414 La Salle street, Marion Dawson of Zanesville Route 8 and john Dawson, Jr., of Zanesville Route 6 and three grandsons. One son, David is deceased. The body is at Mock Funeral Home in New Concord where friends may call after 2 p.m. today. Services will be held by Rev. Joseph Brown at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial in Cumberland Cemetery.
