C. Dyer of North fifth street was killed Monday morning at 11:35 o'clock, when the sled on which she and her sister, Naomi Dyer were coasting, crashed into a Dodge roadster driven by W. A. Linton of North Seventh street at the corner of North Fifth street and Foster avenue. The force of the impact herled Dorthy under the machine and it is believed that one of the wheels passed over her body. She was crushed throught the chest and abdomen and died fifteen minutes following the tragedy. Naomi was thrown to the side of the street and escaped being struck by the vehicle. Mr. Linton stopped his car as quickly as he could and went to the aid of the two children. They were rushed to the Wells hospital in the Roger Doyle machine. Dorothy never regained consciousness and died while Drs. Huth and Bradford were making an examination of her injuries. Naomi was painfully bruised and suffered minor lacerations. However, her condition is not expected to become critical unless unforeseen complications develop. The two sisters were coasting down the steep North Fifth street hill which intersects Foster avenue. Naomi was guiding, lying outstretched on the sled and Dorthy was on top of her. By the time they arrived at the intersection they were traveling at a rapid rate of speed and Mr. Linton who was driving east on Foster avenue did not observe their approach until tll late to avoid the catastrophe. The body of Dorothy Dyer was removed to the Stevens undertaking establishment and prepared for burial and was removed late Monday to the family residence. She was a pupil in the sixth grade at the Ninth street school building and was a favorite with all who knew her. The entire community was shocked and saddened at her tragic death. In addition to her parents, the child is survived by two brothers, Richard and James Dyer both of the home, and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Morgan, city and Naomi Dyer. Funeral arrangements had not been completed late Monday.
