DYSON was born in Gurnsey County, Ohio, Oct. 4, 1824, died at his home in Oskaloosa, Kansas, April 13th, 1907, aged 82 years, 6 months, and 9 days. At the age of eight years he removed with his parents to Athens County, Ohio, where he worked on a farm and attended district school. At the age of 21 he was married to Miss Martha YOUNKINS, who survives him. To this union were born ten children, eight of whom survive him. He continued to reside in Ohio until March 1863, when he enlisted in the service of the Union in Co. B., 36 Ohio Vol. Inf. He received an honorable discharge at the close of the war and returned to his family in Athens County, where he remained 12 years, removing in 1877 to Jefferson County, Kansas, where he resided until the time of his death. The deceased for many years has lived a consistent Christian life being a member of the U.B. church, but during his residence in Oskaloosa, there being no U.B. church he became a member of the M.E. church of that place. The funeral was held at the United Brethren church, Monday, April 15, 1907 at 3 o'clock and the body laid to rest in the McLouth Cemetery.
