Eliza Jane Gill was born August 13, 1847 at North Salem, Guernsey, Ohio to 
James Gill (born 1795 Ireland, died October 15, 1855 Guernsey, Ohio) and Martha 
Patterson (born abt 1813 Ireland, died unknown Ohio); the third of at least 
four children. 



Her siblings were Mary A (born May 18, 1841 Ohio, died May 11, 1916 Ohio); 
Sarah C (born March 1842 Guernsey, Ohio died 1900 same) and John (born 1850 
Ohio). 



Eliza married John S Miller (born April 15, 1844 County Down, Ireland, died 
February 19, 1908 Guernsey, Ohio) on September 28, 1865 at Guernsey, Ohio. 



The couple had seven children: 

James Elmer (born August 15, 1866 Guernsey, Ohio, died March 13, 1940); 



Mary Ellen (born January 15, 1868 Guernsey, Ohio, died May 19, 1946 Guernsey, 
Ohio); 



Ulysses McPherson (born July 7, 1870 Hickman Mills, Missouri, died February 17, 
1883 Guernsey, Ohio); 



David Orville (born July 10, 1872 Hickman Mills, Missouri, died February 3, 
1883 Guernsey, Ohio); 



Martha Belle (born February 7, 1875 Missouri, died May 30, 1943 Ohio); 



Jennie Agnes (born August 24, 1879 Guernsey, Ohio, died August 30, 1918 
Guernsey, Ohio) and 



William Carothers Miller (born October 7, 1882 Guernsey, Ohio, died November 
10, 1957 Guernsey, Ohio). 



Family found in the 1850 - 1910 censuses living at Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio, 
although the family lived in Missouri about 9 years around 1870: 



1850: James Gill 55, Martha Gill 37, Marg Gill 9, Sarah Gill 7, Eliza J Gill 3. 



1860: Martha Gill 46, Sarah Gill 17, Eliza Gill 14, John Gill 10. Her mother is 
a widower in the 1860 census. 



1880: John S. Miller 35, Lizzie J. Miller 32, James E. Miller 14, Mary E. 
Miller 12, Ulysus M. Miller 10, David O. Miller 8, Martha B. Miller 6, Jennie 
A. Miller 10m. 



1900: John 56, farmer, Eliza 52, Jennie A. 20, William 17. 7 children, 5 
living. 



1910: Eliza Jane Gill Miller 62, widowed, Jennie Agnes Miller 30. 



Eliza was a mother and housekeeper. She received a widow's pension after 
husband John Miller died as he had served in the Civil War. 



Eliza died May 10, 1919 at Kimbolton, Guernsey, Ohio and was buried at the New 
Kimbolton Cemetery, Liberty, Guernsey, Ohio. Her Find a Grave # 37398732 which 
has photos and her obituary posted. 

Additional Comments:
Am not closely related.(There were 2 Gill families living in the same area at 
about the same time and they each had a child named Eliza so easily confusing 
to research).
