James Kennedy, 79, 5808 Erie Ave., SW, Navarre, native of Guernsey Couty, died 
at 6:40 a.m. Sunday (FEb. 2, 1969) at the Massillon City Hospital where he was 
admitted following an apparent heart attack.

A retired employee of Republic Steel Co. at Massillon, he was born Oct. 16, 
1889 in Knox Twp., the son of John and Martha Forsythe Kennedy, and was a 
member of Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church, Navarre.  He had resided in 
Navarre for 32 years.

Mr. Kennedy leaves one son, Harry of Williamstown, N.J.; one step-son, Harry R. 
Nelson, Canal Fulton; one step-daughter, Mrs. Naomi Gamble, Cuyahoga Falls; one 
sister, Mrs. Clark McDonald, New Concord; four grandchildren, two great-
grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.  
His wife, the former Flora E. Howell, died in November 1968.

Friends may call at the Bientz Chapel, Gordon-Shaidnagle-Hollinger Funeral 
Home, Navarre, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.  Services will be at 1 p.m. 
Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Clayton Gortner officiating.  
Graveside services will be held at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at Fairfield Cemetery, 
West Lafayette.
