The Cambridge Jeffersonian August 8, 1949
John Franklin Howell, 80, died Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at his home at Flat Ridge. 
He attended morning worship services at the Flat Ridge Methodist church Sunday.
 A retired farmer, he was born July 4, 1869, a son of Abner and Louisa Howell
and was the eldest of 13 children.  He was married Nov, 8, 1889 to Elizabeth
Gibson.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Flora Kennedy, Navarre, and Mrs.
Ines Wilton, Rt. 1, Cambridge; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a
brother, William Howell and a sister, Mrs. Ada Wells, Cambridge.  Four children
are deceased.  The body was taken to the McCracken funeral home.

Services will be conducted at the home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with additional
services at 2:30 p.m. in the Flat Ridge Methodist church.

NOTE:  The daughter, Ines Wilton should read Inez Wilson and the sisters, Mrs.
Ada Wells, should read Amanda Wells.
