Howell, 77, of Cambridge, who died Friday (Aug. 4, 2006) at Southeastern Med., Cambridge. The Rev. Randolf White and Chaplain Jerry Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Cambridge, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Jane Bridnit Bradley Webb. Mrs. Howell was a 1946 graduate of Brown High School. As a young woman she worked several years for the Glass House. Later she worked for RCA and then became a homemaker to raise her family. She began her career with the then Cambridge State Hospital, where she worked from 1964- 1990. In her youth she loved roller skating and attending dances. She was a founding member of the Cambridge Little League Auxiliary. She was also active in the PTA. She was faithful to her church as a life member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed shopping at malls and the Cambridge downtown area. She also loved to eat at local restaurants and in her leisure collected Cambridge Glass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Russell Howell, who died Sept. 17, 1997; a grandson, John Russell howell and two sisters, Mary Ann Devore and Doris L. Griffis. She leaves two sons, John L. (Loretta) Howell of Butler and William J. Howell of Cambridge; grandchildren, Marsha (Greg) Adams of Bellville, Douglas (Kina) Griffith of Mansfield, Troy Howell of Butler, Robin Calvey of Mansfield, Ayden Howell and Madelyn Howell, both of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.
