Rocilla (Rosilla or Rosalie) Ingram was born May 3, 1855 on a farm at Wheeling, 
Guernsey, Ohio to James Ingram and Rose Ann Brown (Ewing), the first of their 
four children. Her siblings were: Emma, John Wesley and George W Ingram. She 
also had 4 step-siblings: Evan James and James Hamilton Ingram; Edward Ingram 
and Elias Henry Ewing. 



Found in the 1860, 1870 censuses living at Wheeling, Guernsey, Ohio: 

1860: James Ingram 33, Rose A Ingram 35, Rosilla Ingram 8, Emma Ingram 7, John 
Ingram 6, James H Ingram 5, Evan Ingram 4. 

1870: James Ingram 42, Elanor Ingram 55, Ivan Ingram 18, James H Ingram 17, 
Rosalie Ingram 15 (attending school), Emma Ingram 14, John Ingram 11, George 
Ingram 9, David Siman 55. 



Rocilla married William Richard Williams on February 19, 1874 at Bird's Run 
Church, Bird's Run, Wheeling, Guernsey, Ohio. 



The couple had 9 children: 

Rose Anna (b 1876); 

James Edward (b September 20, 1877); 

Clara Myrtle (b August 1879); 

Emma Lee (b May 22, 1881); 

Martha Ellen "Ella" (b November 1882); 

Louisa Pearl (b October 8, 1884); 

Margaret Jane (b July 18, 1886); 

Grover Cleveland (b July 18, 1888); and 

Laura Etta (b July 8, 1890) (all born at Wheeling, Ohio). 



Found in the 1880 - 1900 censuses living on a farm at Wheeling, Guernsey, Ohio: 
1880: William Williams age 26, farmer, born in Wales (both parents born in 
Wales); Rocilla 24, born Ohio (father born in Wales and mother in West 
Virginia), keeping house; Rose Ann 4, born in Ohio; James E 2 (son) born in 
Ohio; Clara M 10 months, born August in Ohio. 

1900: Wm R Williams 44, Pocilla Williams 44, Myrtle C Williams 20, Emma L 
Williams 19, Ella M Williams 17, Luiza P Williams 15, Maggie J Williams 13, 
Grover C Williams 12, Laura Etta Williams 9. (Discrepancies in this census: 
Says she was born May 1856 and married 1877 and that she only had 7 children). 



Rocilla died October 28, 1909 at Wheeling, Guernsey, Ohio and was buried in 
either Guernsey County or Coshocton County, Ohio, one source says the Forney 
Cemetery near Bird's Run. 

Additional Comments:
Censuses transcribed as found without fixing spelling errors.

Found various spellings of Rocilla's first name, not sure which is correct.
