Kenworthy, 28, of 447 North Fifth street, Cambridge, was instantly killed Wednesday afternoon when a 10 ton road roller he was operating went over an embankment on Rt. 555 about 3.5 miles east of Chesterhill. Fellow workers said had he stayed with the machine, he probably would have escaped death since the big machine continued slipping down a 12-foot embankment and came to a stop without upsitting. Kenworthy was an employee of Hall and Barber Inc., contracting firm of Cambridge which is resurfacing Rt. 555 between Chesterhill and Elloitt. He was not pinned under the heavy roller, but was believed to have been struck on the chest as he leaped. Dr. A. A. Coulson, Morgan county coroner with held his verdict as the cause of death pending further investigation. Kenworthy was taken in an ambulance from Chesterhill to the office of a doctor who pronounced him dead. The body was to be taken from the Fawcett-Stone funeral home to the McCracken funeral home in Cambridge. Mr. Kenworthy was born in Cambridge, Sept. 5, 1929. a son of Charles and Gertrude Geyer Kenworthy. He graduated from Cambridge high school in the class of 1947 and attended the First Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, the former Cora Louise Ford; two children, Thomas and Martha both of the home; two brothers, Herbert and Kenneth and a sister, Mrs. Frank Stroud, all of Cambridge.
