W. LAWYER, EX-GUERNSEY OFFICIAL DIES Cambridge, O.-June 16-Elijah W. Lawyer, 84, former Guernsey county treasurer and school teacher, died Saturday evening in Nightingale rest home. Mr. Lawyer was a native of Guernsey county, a son of William and Elizabeth Ann LAwyer. He was a school teacher in Guernsey county many years, was county treasurer eight years and a member of the county school board 16 years. He was a member of the Second U. P. church and the United Commercial traverlers. In October 1896, he married Lillie M. Pollock. She died in 1950. Surviving are two sons, William E. of Akron and James C. of Cambridge; three sisters, Mrs. W. H. Danley and Mrs. C. W. Lowry of Cambridge, and Mrs. Elmer LePage of Bucyrus, a brother, F. H. Lawyer of Columbus; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A daughter is deceased. The body is at Scott funeral home, where services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 by the Rev. Joseph T. Brownlee. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.
