MRS. LAWYER SUCCUMBS IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. Emily Lawyer, 60, 1601 N. 13th St. died 12:15 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 8, 
1971) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

She was born June 20, 1911 in Cambridge, the daughter of William and Hattie 
Mercer McManaway, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Gray 
Ladies and Wing at Guernsey Memorial Hospital; Americah Legion and Veteran of 
Foreign Wars Auxiliaries.

She was married to Dr. Gordon F. Lawyer who died Dec. 14, 1964.

Mrs. Lawyer one son, William of Cincinnati; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Gregory, 
Monroe, IA., Mrs. Leota Hines, Asheville, N.C., and Mrs. Annabell Haynes, 
Cambridge; five brothers, George McManaway, Asheville, N.C., William of Live 
Oaks, Fla., Lester of Toledo, Leroy of Greenville, S. C., and John of 
Cambridge.  Four sisters are deceased.

Friends may call at Scott Funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. thursday and 2 to 4 
and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. James E. 
Taggert officiating.  Burial will be in Guernsey Memorial Gardens.
