Bernard L. Meughen, Sr., age 72, of North Canton, died Wednesday at Aultman
Hospital after a brief illness.  Born in Cambridge, OH, he had been a North
Canton resident for 44 years.  Retired in 1983 from the Canton Police Department
after 27 years of service.  Bernard was a Korean War Air Force veteran and a
member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Canton Moose Lodge and the McKinley
Eagles.  Survived by his wife, Juanita of the home; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Sandra and Thomas Ritchey of Canton, Cheryl and Thomas Williams of
Sherrodsville, OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Ellen Vermillion of
Roseville, CA.; Bernard L. Jr. and Wendy Meighen of Canal Fulton; a sister,
Norma Jean Bradt of Eldred, PA.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald and
Jeanette Meighen of Cambridge and Arthur Meighen of Byesville, OH, ten
grandchildren.  Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home
with Rev. Ralph W. Edwards officiating.  Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. 
Friends may call Friday (tonight) 6-9 p.m..  The  FOP McKinley Lodge #2 will
have services Friday (tonight) at 5:45 p.m.
