Oliver, 88, of 720 Caldwell street, a retired farmer, died at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday (July 9) at Bethesda Hospital where he had been a patient three weeks. He was born in Guernsey County, Feb. 15, 1881, a son of James and Louisa Howell Oliver. He had lived in Zanesville the past 15 years. Mr. Oliver was a member of Norwich United Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of Norwich Grange. He received the grange's gold sheaf and 50-year pin in 1961. Surviving are a son, Millard Oliver of 1958 Chandlersville road; a daughter, Mrs. Lena I. Moore of 855 Caldwell street; two brothers, William B. Oliver of Newark Route 7 and Charles E. Oliver of Adamsville road; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Orndorff of Norwich, Mrs. Blanche Butler of Crooksville and Mrs. Marie Curtis of Parkersburg, W. Va.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-greatgrandchild. A daughter, three sisters, two brothers and his wife Susie are deceased. The body was taken to DeLong and Baker Funeral Home where friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
