Sherrard Mrs. Cleora Mabel Sherrard, wife of Jacob T. Sherrard, died at the home of her parents, Jessie E. and Sarah McKinney on North 9th Street Thursday Feb. 21th 1895 at 7 a.m. aged 28 years, 4 months 14 days. She was born in New Concord, Ohio, Oct. 7th 1866 and with her parents lived in New Concord and later in Cambridge where she received her education and on Oct. 9th 1988 was united in marriage with Jacob T. Sherrard, who with two little daughters, Ethel May and Bula Bell are left to mourn. She united with the Cambridge M.E. church during the pastorate of the Rev. Dr. Locke. She was remarkably industrious and patient, a good and affectionate wife and mother. In addition to her duties as a wife and mother she cultivated painting and left many specimens of her artistic skill that will be treasured as mementoes by her children and friends. During her protracted illness with consumption, she was remarkably patient and gentle, endearing herself to all who met her. She expressed unswerving faith in Christ and counseled all about her to trust in Him. The funeral will take place Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Further notice will be given. Robert Homer Sherrard, Jr., 64, of 615 N. Ninth St., died Friday afternoon (Aug. 31, 1979) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born Oct. 2, 1914, in Cambridge, he was son of Robert Homer Sherrard Sr., Cambridge, and the late Anna Marie Burris Sherrard. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church and former trustee and elder of the church. Mr. Sherrard was employed with the Style Center for 30 years and E.P. Roe stores of Cleveland for several years. On Jan. 16, 1938, he married the former Louise Evans, who survives. In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Sherrard leaves his daughter, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Caples of 64393 Range Road, Lore City; two grandchildren, Cathy and Christopher Caples, also of 64393 Range Road, Lore City; and one sister, Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) MacNealy of Cambridge. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Scott-Atkinson Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. David Frees officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.
