They were married in 1788 in Kent Co., RI. They migrated to Guernsey Co., OH, where Jared died in 1839. Elizabeth followed him in 1849. Following is her will. Be it remembered that at the March term Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and fortynine of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the County of Guernsey in the State of Ohio held at and in the Court-House within and for the County of Guernsey aforesaid on the sixth day of April Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and fortynine the last will and testament of Elizabeth Bailey late of the County of Guernsey aforesaid deceased being brought into court for probate John Kendall one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforesaid last will & testament of Elizabeth Bailey late of Guernsey County Ohio Deceased, who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he saw George Wm Fisk the other subscribing Witness sign said Will as a Witness thereto in the presence and at the request of said Elizabeth Bailey, that said George Wm Fisk is now Deceased that he John Kendall saw the testator sign the said Will, that he also signed said Will as a Witness to the same in the presence and at the request of said Elizabeth Bailey--that said Elizabeth Bailey at the time of signing said Will was of sound mind and memory of full Ago and not under any restraint which said Will is in these words towit-- In the name of my Heavenly father I Elizabeth Bailey of the County of Guernsey in the State of Ohio do make and publish this my last Will and testament. Item First I give and bequeath to my son Job Bailey One Dollar and my second son John T Bailey one Dollar and my oldest daughter H____ Peckham One dollar and my third son Titus Bailey One silver Match and one cow, Item Second I give and bequeath to the heirs of my Deceased Daughter Hapy Betsy Stutts three Dollars. Item Third I give and bequeath to my Daughter Rebecca Maffet all my wearing apparel and my gold Beads and three of my best bed quilts and four Cotton Sheets. Item Fourth I give and bequeath to my Son Sidney Bailey all my Cattle and Hogs that I leave at my Death Itam Fifth I give and bequeath to John Bailey son of Sidney Bailey my bed and bedding and all that belongs to it Itam Sixth I give and bequeath to my Son Sidney Bailey and Rebecca Maffet my Daughter all the ballance of my Estate let it be more or less at my death be the said Sidney Bailey & Rebecca Maffet paying all the above named heirs what I have bequeathed to them and all my funeral expenses.
