Josiah Wilson’s Will The last will and testament of Josiah Wilson of the County of Guernsy in the State of Ohio. I Josiah Wilson considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say). First I give and bequeath my soul to God who gave me the same. Second I do will and order that my Executors hereinafter named pay all of my just debts. Third, I give and bequeath unto each of my following named children the sum of one hundred dollars that is to say my son Josiah Wilson Jr., My daughters Mary Rebecca, Sarah, my son Thomas and daughter Rachel Ann to be paid to the three first named as soon as the same can be cashed out of my personal property or the rents of my real estate after all my just debts are paid and to the three last named when they shall arise of the age majority: fourth I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebecca Wilson all my real and personal estate to hold for her own use so long as she shall continue to be my widow, and remain unmarried, to have and to hold the same subject to the payment of my debts, and the above specified legacies my real estate consists in the following described tracts of lands situated in Guernsey County, Ohio that is to say the south East quarter of Section five of township two in range three of lands sold at Zanesville Ohio as well as the Equitable title in and to the lots numbered seventy-four seventy-five, and seventy-six in the town of Cambridge Guernsey County Ohio. Fifth I do authorize my Executors if they should consider it necessary so to sell the said town Lots or any or either of them in the manner and way they may think best. My said wife having the right to retain the proceeds arising therefrom to her own use after first paying debts and legacies. Sixth. It is my will that after the death or intermarriage of my said wife that whatever may remain of my estate by divided equally between all my children that is to say those before named as well as my daughter Jane intermarried with Gabriel Glenuse. Lastly I do hereby appoint my said wife Rebecca Wilson Executrix and my son in law Gabriel Glenn Executor of this my last will and testament herby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of March A.D. 1843.
