Carl M. Jacobs, Jr., attorney-at-law and one of the leading men of Cincinnati, has served as vice-mayor of the city since January 1, 1918, and is otherwise interested in civic matters. He was born at Cincinnati, September 13, 1886, and attended its graded schools and Walnut Hill High School. Later he became a student of the University of Cincinnati, from which he was graduated in 1907 with the degree of Bachelor of Philosophy. He then took the regular legal course in the Cincinnati Law School, and was graduated therefrom in 1909 with the degree of Bachelor of Laws. Mr. Jacobs then went to Europe, and for a year was engaged in studying the jurisprudence in Austria, England, France, and Germany. Returning to the United States, January i, 1911 he entered the prosecuting attorney's office, and was later made assistant city solicitor, which office he held until 1915 when he embarked in the private practice.
