        Joseph Epley was a native of Pennsylvania, and emigrated froth
that State to Ohio, and settled in
this township, on sections ten and eleven. He died here in 1835. His
wife, Sarah Epley, lived till the year
1876. James Epley, the oldest son, resides in Green township; the second
child, Joseph, is a resident of
Kansas; and the youngest, Ann Barries, is in Colerain township. James has
held the office of justice of
peace for twenty-six years, he was also township trustee for two terms.
