The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** The State of Ohio Hamilton County Came personally Samuel Peirce before me the undersigned one of the judges of the court of common please within and for the county aforesaid who being sworn in due form saith that he inlisted into the service of the United States of America in the spring of the year one thousand seven hundred & seventy seven for serving the war at the Middle Town in the state of Connecticut and was inlisted by Captain Robert Warner and joined the Regiment shortly after enlisting. Commanded by Col Willise at old orchert, on the North River, in the state of New York in the Bregead commanded by General Parsons and continued to serve in said bregeade until he was detached to the Suthard in Captain Harts company and the regiment commanded by Col Demot which was part of the army commanded by the Markees Dele Fyette and the seige of York Town on James River after the surrender of Cornwallace this deponent was ordered to West Point on the North River in the state of New York and there joined his regiment again commanded by Col Willice as aforesaid this deponent was discharged at west point by said Col Willice at the end of the war and there received the second badge of honor in testimony of his faithfull services during the war. This deponent sold his land warrant to a certain Clark of Danbury in the state of Conneticut and was told by said Clark that he must have his discharge to enable him to locate his land warrant. This deponent believed to be as Clark stated delievered his discharge to said Clark and left the state of Connecticut soon after for the northern most territory north of the River Ohio which he thinks was in the year seventeen hundred & ninty three since that time he has not heard from said Clark or anything relative to his discharge nor does he know what has become of his discharge, this deponent saith that he is fifty nine years old and from his infxxxx and reduced circumstances he stand in need of assistance from his County and this deponent further saith that he is at this time a resident of Hamilton County in the state of Ohio.
