Corporal O'Sullivan on the memorable 9th of May, captured Marengo, Gen. La Vega's Aide-de-Camp receiving six sabre-cuts in the face for his victory. At the same battle a ball skimmed his cheek-bone. He delivered up his prisoner to an officer, then went back with six men and captured from the enemy a field piece. Additional Comments: The Hannibal Journal was published in Hannibal, Missouri. The battle referred to took place during the Spanish-American War.
