Mr. Gutmann was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, and emigrated to this country while quite a young man. Shortly after coming to Cincinnati he embarked in the wholesale jewelry business and continued at the president stand ever since. He was considered the pioneer jobbing jeweler, and many of the leading jewelers in Cincinnati gained their experience in his place. A meeting of the Wholesale Jewelers’ Association will be held at the Gibson House this morning for the purpose of drafting suitable resolutions on his death, as Mr. Gutmann was one of the charter members of the organization. Mr. Gutmann leaves a widow, three sons and three daughters. Dave, Eli, and Sol were identified with their father in the business. The youngest daughter, Lily, was to have been married to a gentleman from Natchez, Miss., three weeks hence, but the death of her father may cause a postponement of the nuptials. Mr. Gutmann was a member of the congregation at the Plum Street Temple and his funeral will be conducted under the auspices of that church. The burial will take place Sunday afternoon at the Jewish Cemetery, on Walnut Hills. ______________ File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/oh/hamilton/obits/g/gutmann1334gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ohfiles/ File size: 3.7 Kb
