All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jo Compton cocoajo@earthlink.net May 26, 2007, 7:56 am Source: Ancestry.com Written: August 20, 1834 The following is the record of the Last Will and Testament of Jonathan Pitman: "Jonathan Pitman, Deceaed, effec as said, original record: It appearing to the Probate Court that on the 3rd day of September 1834 the last will and testament of Jonthan Pitman deceased was duly admitted to Probate and Record in the Court of Common Pleas of Hamilton County Ohio and the Record of said Will was afterwards by law transferred to the Probate Court of said County and that the original Record of said will was destroyed in the burning of the Court House on March 29th 1884 but that the orignal Will together with the endorsement thereon and the Probate thereof from the Journal of said Court were preserved. It is now ordered by the Probate Court on is own motion that the Records of said Will be and the same is hereby restored from said orignal Will endorsement and Probate, as provided by Statue in the words and figures, to with: The State of Ohio, Hamilton County, SS Hamilton Common Pleas. Be it remembered that on the day and year aforesaid the last Will and Testament of Jonathan Pitman late of this county deceased was presented to the Court for Probate and Record clothed in the words to wit: In the name of God Amen. I Jonathan Pitman of Sycamore Township Hamilton County and STate of Ohio being of sound mind and memory and understanding do this 20th day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and thirty four make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit: (Will continues)...see Additional Comments.
