Mount Blanchard, born January 11, 1836, in Mahoning County, Ohio, is a son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Slamaker) Siddall. who came to this county in 1848 and settled in Amanda Township, where they purchased land of John Claver. Joseph Siddall, who was a farmer, reared his sons to agricultural pursuits. His children were William W., Abraham, Jacob, Nancy (wife of Washington Myers) and Lucinda (latter deceased). Jacob Siddall was educated in Hancock County, and married, in 1867, Amanda, daughter of John Misamore, one of the pioneers of this county, who is still living. To this union have been born the following named children: Elizabeth, Lydia, Zilla J., J. D. and Forrest (latter deceased). Mrs. Siddall is fourth in a family of eighteen children. Mr. Siddall has 165 acres of fine land on the Blanchard River bottoms, which was his father's old home farm. He is an energetic man and one of the leading farmers of Amanda Township. He devotes considerable attention to sheep raising.
