His parents were Robert and Mary (Anspaugh) Dickson, the former a native of Ireland and the latter of Pennsylvania and of German parentage. Our subject received a common school education, and selected the occupation of a farmer and gardener. He was married, in 1852, to Elizabeth Hamilton, by whom he has had nine children, eight boys and one girl. Mr. Dickson owns three acres of land in Goshen Township; also owns land in Illinois. He is a quiet, energetic man and a good citizen.
