He made his home with his parents in Medina county until in the year 1855, when he moved to the farm where he resided continuously until his death, which occurred August 18, 1906, at the age of 77 years and 4 months. On July 3, 1856, he was united in marriage to Mary B. Stumm by the late Rev. Jacob Klingler. To this union was born six children as follows: Ella A., wife of Leonard Snyder, of Paulding county; Milton, residing on a farm near the deceased's late residence; Cynthia, wife of Manoah Miller, of Paulding county; Emma, wife of David Rusher, of Findlay, O; David E., now in the employ of the Erie railroad, at Kinsland, Indiana; and Lena, who died in infancy. The deceased had two brothers, Cicero and Charles, and three sisters, Barbara (Simous), Clarinda (Fritz), and Catherine who with his aged parents are deceased except his brother Charles, who resides two miles west of Ada. The deceased was confirmed a member of the Reformed church in Medina county long before he located in this county. After locating at his late residence he became a member of St. Paul's Reformed church and remained a consistent member of that congregation to the day of his death. He remained a member in good standing of Ada Lodge, No. 344, Free and Accepted Masons, having become a Master Mason on the 29th day of November, 1865. Funeral services were held at the Reformed church, southwest of Ada, on Tuesday forenoon, conducted by his pastor, Rev. [illegible], the Masonic lodge having a part in the exercise. Those present on this occasion, from a distance were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Manoah Miller [with] daughter Dean and son Frank, and Miss Ella Snyder of Paulding county; Mr. and Mrs. David Rusher and daughter Bertha, of Findlaw; David E. Loutzenhiser and wife, of Kingsland, Ind.; O.M. Stumm and son Frank, of Lima; Jay and Wilbur Simous, of Bowling Green, Ohio and P. W. Stumm, of Paulding.
