Thompson Journals Written: March 7, 1826 Will Book 1 Page 166 Will of Josiah Thompson of Athens Tp, Harrison Co, O. states that after paying debts, his beloved wife, Elizabeth shall remain in possession of entire estate, "but as she is very infirm in body at the present time, it may please Almighty God to call her hence ere I decease or shortly thereafter", then directs exrs to sell personal & Real Estate within 3 yrs, he then bequeaths to each of my daughters viz Margaret, Jane & Eliza $110 each. to my son William Simpson, the remainder of the money for which my R.E. may sell. If the farm should be rented 1, 2, or 3 yrs, the profits to be applied to schooling him & desires he be taught some mechanical trade or business. Directs exrs to loan his money until he arrives to age of twenty years. Then as to the legacies to his daughters if they, or any of them marry before they arrive at lawful age, I desire they or any of them shall have their portion, but if they do not marry before arriving at lawful age, then I desire their money be loaned at interest until they arrive at eighteen years of age. Gives his 3 daughters the balance of his personal estate. Appoints worthy friend John Lyle of Belmont Co, sole exr.
