Thompson Journals Written: July 31, 1874 Will Book C Page 578 Will of Thomas Thompson of Cadiz Tp, Har Co. 2d directs household goods & furniture divided among children 3d directs that his home farm in Cadiz Tp on which I now reside & where I have resided for more than forty years ctg abt 180 A shall be divided in two equal parts & the North part shall go to my son Joseph L. Thompson & the south part to my son Elijah W. Thompson, they however to pay to the exrs, the appraised value of said land. I will & bequeath to my grandchildren, Hugh T. Thompson & Mary Ann Thompson (who are children of my son Thomas Thompson decd) each the sum of $50 to be paid in one year after my decease. 4th directs all bals of estate after paying above & costs of adms with debts shall be divided as follows" To my sons John Thompson, Elijah W. Thompson and Joseph L. Thompson & to my daughters Nancy Baker, Sarah Baker, Mary Henry, Catharine Heala and Rachel Jane Maxwell each the one ninth thereof & whereas I hold two promissory notes vs Nicholas S. Henry, the husband of Mary Henry, the same to be passed to Mary on as her share. Further bequeaths to the children of Eleanor Ann Henderson, deceased, the remaining one ninth. States that son Joseph L. has been farming the home farm for 14 yrs under contract to pay taxes, keep myself & wife & pay me $15 yearly. 9th Appoints son in law Thomas Heala & my grandson John L. Baker Exrs. Dated Apr 19, 1866 Thomas Thompson (seal) Witnesses: Geo A. Chaney, Robert McKee, Amon Lemmon, Samuel Thompson on Mch 13, 1868, he makes codicil & wills Mary $130 note of her husband & revokes appointment of John L. Baker as an Exr.
