H. Brown and wife of Mr. Frank Quillman was born in Flatrock twp. May 25, 1872, died at her home on E. Washington street, Fri. Dec. 2 at 9:30 o'clock. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church for 37 years. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband [Frank], two daughters, Helen and Hilda, one son [John] Robert [why wasn't Beryl mentioned? at least as a step daughter?] and an aged mother, besides hosts of friends and relatives. She was a faithful and loving wife and mother and faithful to her household duties. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church Mon. afternoon at 2 PM conducted by Rev. Hall of Bryan and Rev. Burton of Napoleon. Burial was at Glenwood Cemetery."
