LAWRENCE F. GEORGE CLAIMED. Lawrence F. George, 62, of Cross st, Greenfield, died 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, of a lingering illness. He was born May 25, 1917, in Vinton County, the son of John L. and Laura Coy George. Mr. George was the retired owner and operator of George's Sunoco. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of American Legion Post 298, Greenfield BPOE 717, Greenfield Fishin' Club, and the First United Methodist Church. June 7, 1941, he married Mabel J. Garrison, who survives. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Laura George of Greenfield; a son, Wendell L. George of Greenfield; a daughter, Mrs. Judith E. Wilson of Greenfield Rt. 1; and four grandsons. Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Murray's Funeral Home, Greenfield, with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating and burial in Greenfield Cemetery.
