KERNS. Earl C. Kerns, 67, 1032 Childs. st, died Sunday at 9 a.m. in Greenfield Municipal Hospital. Mr. Kerns was born Feb. 5, 1904 in Samantha, a son of Oliver and Mary Holmes Kerns. On July 30, 1930, he married the former Virginia Mercer, who survives. He was a member of the Down Bible Student Association. He had been employed for 50 years as a plasterer and contractor. Last rites will be read Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Murray Funeral Home. Brother Ernest K. Penrose will officiate. Burial will be made in Gilboa Cemetery, New Petersburg. Visitation will be held at Murray's after 4 p.m. today. In addition to his wife, Mr. Kerns is survived by his mother, of Greenfield; four sons, Lowell E., of Charleston, W. Va., Donald E., of South Salem, and Charles E. and Richard W. Kerns , both of Greenfield; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Mottie, Mrs. Lowell (Marianna) Cohmer and Mrs. David (Helen) Ellis, all of Greenfield, Mrs. Howard (Frances) Wallace, of Springfield, and Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Kidder, of Naughatuck, W. Va.; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Agnes) Badgley, of Greenfield.
