Born – 11 Dec. 1920 in Brooklyn, New York. Parents – George and Katrina Trutner. Spouse – Ruthanne (Huff) Trutner (surviving), married 61 years. Daughters – Ann (Bill) Anderst of Snohomish, Washington; and Susan (John Crites) Trutner of Clarksville. Grandchildren – Brenna, Emily, and Robby. Brother – George Trutner (deceased) of Riverhead, N.Y. Misc. – Graduated H.S. in Freeport, N.Y. Earned BA from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was captain of the baseball team in his senior year. Earned MA from Ohio State University. Taught high school English, creative writing, and journalism at Fairfield High School and Edward Lee McClain High School. Served as a B-17 bombardier in Army Air Force in World War II. Had served as an elder, deacon, and trustee in the Greenfield, Ohio First Presbyterian Church. Served as newsroom copy desk chief at “The Cincinnati Enquirer”. Played volleyball on the Columbus YMCA team. Played golf in the “Cincinnati Enquirer” leagues and in the Buckeye Hills leagues.
