The mill was located on Barrett’s Mill Road three miles southeast of Rainsboro, in Highland County, Ohio, at or near a latitude of 39.203 and a longitude of -83.387. The mill was constructed in the 1860s by Captain David Barrett. It replaced an earlier mill built in the 1820s. The wooden covered bridge was constructed over Rocky Fork Creek in 1870, and was 156 feet long. The mill’s main period of influence was from 1850 to 1874, but it remained in operation, off and on, until the 1970s. Both the mill and the covered bridge burned to the ground in 1980. Arson was suspected. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/oh/highland/photos/barretts5283nph.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/ohfiles/ File size: 1.4 Kb
