HIGHLAND COUNTY, OHIO - Will of Fielding Woollums, 1865 ******************************************************* This is a transcribed copy of Fielding Woollums' will from Highland Co., Ohio, Will Book 6, p. 70-1: In the name of the Benevolent Father of all I Fielding Woollums of the county of Highland and State of Ohio Being weak in Body but sound in mind do make and publish this my last will and Testament. Item 1st I give and devise to my beloved wife in lieu of her dower the farm on which we now reside--situated in Concord Township Highland County and State of Ohio containing about seventy six acres during her natural life and all the stock and chattels which may be thereon at the time of my decease during her natural life as aforesaid she selling so much thereof as may be sufficient to pay my just debts; at the time of the decease of my said wife Jane Woollums The real estate aforesaid I give and devise to my three sons Thomas W. Woollums, Hamilton D. Woollums and Fielden Woollums and their heirs to be equally divided. Item 2nd all the personal property or the proceeds thereof as may Remain unconsumed and unexpended I give and devise to my son Hamilton and his heirs. Item 3rd I will and devise that after the decease of my said wife that my three sons Thomas W. Woollums, Hamilton D. Woollums and Fielden C. Woollums pay to my sons Wm P. Woollums and James J. Woollums each one hundred and twelve dollars and to my son John Woollums the sum of fifty dollars and also to my two Daughters, Nancy S. Shattuck and Mary C. Walker the sum of one hundred dollars each, payments to be made in one year after the decease of my said wife. Item 4th I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Jane Woollums Executrix of this my last will and testiment hereby authorizing and empowering her to compromise (as first?) and release and discharge in such manner as she may seem proper the Debts and claims due me. In Testimony I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of May 1865. Pulliam Thomas Johnson The State of Ohio Highland County } ss. Highland Probate Court July 15th A. D. 1865 This day the last will and testament of Fielding Woollums, late of Highland County, Ohio, deceased, was produced in open court for Probate. Whereupon came personally B. F. Pulliam and Thomas Johnson, subscribing witnesses to said will, who in open court on oath testified to the due execution and attestation of said last will and testament that said testator was at the time of executing and publishing said last will and testament, (and which is written on this sheet) over the age of 21 years, of sound mind and memory and under no restraint, that he voluntarily subscribed the same, and in their presence and hearing published and declared the same to be his last will and testament, and that they in his presence and at his request, signed said will as subscribing witnesses thereto and in the presence of each other B.
