Murphy Nunemaker Cemetery is located on the west side of a small stream approximately 1 ½ [not 3] miles south of Webb Chapel or southeast of Webb Summit [not “Webb Station”] in the northeast corner of Section 30 [not Section 3], on land owned by the Devore Family Trust. The easiest access is by walking downstream below the pond on the Loren Inboden (formerly Robert Geiger) farm on Geiger Road. Just south of the township line, escaped myrtle along the west bank of the stream signals the presence of the cemetery on a level, wooded bank to the west. In 1965 Robert Geiger copied 20 names in this cemetery. This list is preserved at the Ohio Genealogical Society and was also posted on Roots-Web (Ohio Footsteps-L) in 2000 by torres1@socal.rr.com without acknowledgement. In 1974 Oren Nunemaker and Mrs. Bill Crofford found 12 of these names. In 1983 I found inscriptions for 14 people. I have included the six names which I did not find and indicate them by “G” for Geiger and “N” for Nunemaker and have tried to correct inconsistencies between the two previous lists.
