"In the name of the Benevolent Father of all I Richard S. Calvert of the county of Hocking and the State of Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament. Item 1st I give and bequeth and devise to my beloved wife in lieu of her dower the farm that I now live on situated in the county of Hocking and the state of Ohio containing Eighty acres more or less during her natural life and all the stock household goods furniture provisions, and other goods and chattels wich may be therein at the time of my decease during her natural life as afforesaid She however selling so much thereoff as may be sufficient to pay my just debts provided she remains unmarried or as long as she remains my widow as soon as she marries she is to quit claim to all above named. She shall have her wearing apparl only. At the death of my wife or her marriage the real Estate affore said and such part of the personal property or the proceeds thereof as may then remain unconsumed and unexpanded I give and devise to my Daughters - Virginia Harriet and Mary Elois the farm on which we now live and all my affects after my debts are all payed Except one dollar to my son Jacob R. Calvert and one dollar to Sarah Calvert now wife of John Wilkins and one dollar to the Heirs of Nancy Calvert decd once wife of Levi Benjamin. Now in case of the death of either of my daughters - Virginia Harriet Calvert or Mary Elois Calvert then the surviving one is to have all that is or would be coming to both. I do hereby nominate and appoint J. F. McDonald guardian of my daughters Virginia Harriet calvert and Mary Elois Calvert until they shall arrive at the age of twenty one years or enter marriage. I do hereby nominate and appoint my esteemed friend J. F. McDonald and my beloved wife Executor and Executrix of this my last will and testament hereby authorizing and empowering them to compromise release and discharge in such manner as they may deem proper the debts and claims due me. I do also authorize and empower them if it shall seem necessary in order to pay my debts to sell by private sale or in such manner upon such terms of credit or otherwise as they may think proper all or any part of my real estate and deed to purchases to execute acknowledege and deliver in for (? illegible word). I do hereby evoke all former wills by my hand. In testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of June 1856. R. S.
