The date upon which is was made is unknown but we do know it was made by Lucy Ann Strong Tibbles(sp). Lucy Ann was the daughter of Lyman and Ann Bemis Strong and was born in 1815. The hands and faces are done in petit point, but the really unusual thing about the needle painting is the goblets on the table. Instead of stitches of yarn, they are formed by attaching white satin-glass beads, giving a sparkle and depth to the rather large piece of work. The colors remain fresh and vibrant, even though they surely have passed the century mark in age.
