That he is 63 years of age. That he enlisted into the United States service in the Revolutionary War with Great Britain sometime in the year 1775 in the above county and state under Captain Stinson of a ___ rifle company and marched to Boston, and there served one year in fortifying Dorchester Point, marched to New York and was discharged on Staten Island by the above said Captain Stinson.” “In the year 1777 he enlisted again into said service of the United States under Captain Hopkins at Baltimore for the term of 3 years in the 4th regiment of Light Horse commanded by Colonel Moylan and marched to New Jersey to guard the shore from there to White Plains, and was in the Battle of Brandywine and Monmouth and guarded the lines one year at Philadelphia, and was discharged at Colchester 1779 by Captain Hopkins, and all the time was on the Continental establishment, but by the lapse of time, his discharge he has lost…” “21st January, 1823, Cayuga County, New York, Peter Sifert or Cypher, aged 66 years in the town of Genoa: That he enlisted into the service of the United States in the Revolutionary War sometime in the year 1775 in York County, Pennsylvania under Captain Stinson in a rifle company for the term of one year and was discharged on Staten Island; and in the year 1777, he enlisted April 16th in Captain Hopkins company of Light Dragoons in the 4th regiment and was discharged at Colchester in the state of Connecticut.
