All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Johnson nancyappel@juno.com November 1, 2012, 9:28 pm Bellevue Gazette, 27 Feb 1922 Another long time resident of the community answered the roll call of death last Friday at 10 p.m. Theophilouis Fitterer was born at Palmyra, Lebanon County, Pa., December 9, 1853, and came to Ohio in 1873, locating a few miles southwest of Bellevue, where he had since resided. His age at the time of his death was 68 years, two months, and fifteen days. He was unified in marriage to Sarah Melinda Mook, within a year of coming to Ohio, and engaged in farming for some years, afterwards for many years he was in the employ of the Spence Bros., and France Stone Co., in various capacities. His wife preceeded him in death about eight years. He has been afflicted with a peculiar disease of the blood for a number of years, but his death was hastened unexpectedly by acute pneumonia. He was for about forty five years an honored member of the Evangelical church and highly respected for his quiet, genial, Christian disposition. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.R. Shisler Sunday afternoon at the York Free Chapel, with Burial in adjoining cemetery. Two brothers, Josiah of Palmyra. Pa., and Rev. J.S. Fitterer, of this place, with many friends survive him. ____ Bellevue Gazette, 25 Feb 1922 Following an illness of two days, Theophilus Fitterer, widely known York Township farmer, died at 10 friday night at his home southwest of Bellevue, at the age of 67 years. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon with a brieg service at the house at 2 o’clock, and service in York Free Chapel at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Shisler, pastor of the Bellevue Evangelical church. Interment will be in York Free Chapel cemetery.
