The end came ofter a prolonged and gallant struggle, in which everything known to skill and science had been done; and buoyed up by a spirit so serene and lovely and uncomplaining that it was as though the Lord had given his beloved sleep. The duaghter of the late Charles and Anna Bailey Kohlmeyer, Odessa was born in Norwalk May 25, 1904 and dwelt here all her life. Four years ago she took a position in the printing department of The Reflector Herald and her efficiency, loyalty and splendid spirit were inspirations to those with whom she was associated. Fully half her life she was afflicted by illnesses that finally sapped the physical strength though not the spirit. Devoted sisters did all humanly possible to assuage her suffering and to bring her health; all the skills of the Cleveland Clinic availed nothing. Through it all her sublime character shone forth, and those who watched and prayed, marveled. She is survived by five sisters; Mrs. J. Arnold Hagdohl and Mrs. Thad Walton, of Norwalk; Mrs. Irwin Meyer and Mrs. Esther Baker, Bellevue; and Mrs. Calvin Francis, with whom she made her home; twelve nieces and nephews. She was from youth a member of the Lutheran faith and staunch in her faith. None exemplified the Golden Rule better than she. And life for her was so simple, so direct, so honest, that friends and family were devoted to her, and their loss falls today with a crushing blow.
