Mr. Mook was in his usual health until early Tuesday morning, when he suffered a stoke of paralysis. When Mrs. Mook went to call him to breakfast she found him unconscious and he lingered in that condition until early next morning, when he peacefully passed away. James Mook, son of Henry and Catherine Mook, both deceased, was born in York township, July 25, 1847. His entire life was spent in the immediate neighborhood where he was born. He was united in marriage April 25, 1871, to Miss Mary Gahn. He is survived by the widow, to sons and two daughters, as follows: Chas. H. Mook, who lives at the old homestead, west of town and Granville L. Mook, living on another farm owned by the deceased and located in York township about three miles west of town, and Mrs. William Kleckner and Mrs. Martin Hayward, both of York Township. e also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Michael Filsinger, of North of Bellevue, and Mrs. Martin Richards, of Bellevue. Three years ago last fall, Mr. Mook gave up active work and moved with his family to Bellevue. In early life he became converted and united with the Pike Evangelical curch and remained a steadfast member ever since. Mr. Mook was a model citizen and practiced his christianity in his daily life. He was honest and upright in his dealings with his fellow men, a kind husband and father whose sudden taking off will be deeply deplored and the stricken family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. The funeral will take place from the house Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock, and from York Free Chapel at 2 o’clock, services being conducted by Rev. A.F. Beery with interment in the cemetery adjoining. _________ File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/oh/huron/obits/m/mook1367gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ohfiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
