Her siblings were: James, Rose Ann, George Washington, Margaret Jane, Isabelle, Ezekiel A, Catherine Lucetta, Sarah and Alice Louise. Nancy married Joshua Ewing on August 24, 1848 at Jefferson County, Ohio. Joshua Ewing (born July 15, 1808 Harford, Maryland to James Ewing & Sarah Brownley, died January 26, 1879 Slyvan, Richland, Wisconsin) had been married first to a Jane Clark on January 1, 1835 at Jefferson Co, Ohio. (Jane died 1848). Believe Joshua and Jane Clark had 8 children: James W. Ewing (1836 - 1900); Sarah N. Ewing (1837 -); Rebecca Jane Ewing (1838 - 1919); Samuel Robert Ewing (1840 - 1929); Arthur Brownley Ewing (1841 - 1915); Delilah C. Ewing (1843 - 1862); Eliza C. Ewing (1844 - 1923) and Joshua Ewing Jr. (1846 - 1889). Believe Joshua Ewing and Nancy A Brown had 10 or 11 children: Mary Ann Ewing (1849 - 1923); William Ewing (1850 or October 1851- 1932); Susan Laura Ewing (1852 - 1918); Edwin Oliver Ewing (1854 - 1922); Henry M. Ewing (1856 - 1882); Myron Chase Ewing (1858 - 1921); Nancy E. Ewing (June 1861 or 1860 - 1928); Abraham Lincoln Ewing (February 1862 - 1937); Frances E. Ewing (1865 - 1866); Keziah Belle Ewing (1867 - 1924); Kizzie Ewing (1867 - 1888)(this may be Keziah, not sure); Amos Ewing (b 1867 - ). Found Nancy in the 1850 census living at Saline, Jefferson, Ohio (September 18, 1850): Joshua Ewing, 42, $1000 born Maryland; James W. 14, born Ohio; Sarah 12, born Ohio; Rebecca 11, born Ohio; Samuel 9, born Ohio; Arthur B. 7, born Ohio; Delila 6, born Ohio; Eliza 5, born Ohio; Joshua 4, born Ohio; John W. 2, born Ohio; Mary 1, born Ohio; Nancy 29, born Ohio. Next found in the 1870, 1880, 1900, 1905, 1910 censuses living at Sylvan, Richland, WI: 1870: Joshua Ewing 61, born Maryland, farmer, $3500/750; Nancy 49, born Ohio, keeps house; Mary Ann 21, born Ohio, domestic servant; William 18, born Ohio, works at home; Susannah 18, born Ohio, works at home; Edwin 16, born Ohio, works at home; Henry 14, born Ohio, works at home; Myron 12, born Ohio; Nancy 10, born Ohio; Lincoln 8, born Wisconsin; Kesiah 3, born Wisconsin, female; Joshua Jr. 24, born Ohio, farm labor. (Child from 1st marr.); John 22 (27) born Ohio, farm labor. (Child from 1st marr.). 1880: Erving (Ewing), Nancy 59, widow; William 29, born Ohio, son, sgl, renter; Susan 27, born Ohio, house keeper; Edwin C. 26 sgl, renter; Henry M. 24, born Ohio; Nancy E. 20, born Ohio, sgl, house keeper; Albert 18 sgl, at home; Rizziah 12, born Wisconsin; Amos C. 14, born Wisconsin. 1900: William Ewing 48, Born Oct 1851 OH, farmer; Nancy 79, B: Mar 1821 OH, widow; Abraham S. 38, B:Feb 1862 OH; Nancy 38, B:Jun 1861 OH; Florence 8, B:Oct 1891 WI niece. (Prob dau of Nancy). (1900 census says Nancy had 1 child who is still living which conflicts with other information found, it should be 11 children.) 1905: Nancy Ewing 84, William Ewing 54, Abraham L Ewing 43, Nancy Ewing 45, Florence Ewing 14. Nancy is widowed. 1910: William Ewing 59, B:OH, sgl, owns, farmer; Nancy 49, B:OH, sister, widow; Susan 58, sister, widow; Nancy 89, mother, widow, 10 ch, 8 live. (1910 census says 10 children, other sources said 11 children. Nancy A Brown Ewing died on April 25th (or 28th), 1910 at Slyvan, Richland, Wisconsin and was buried at the Ewing plot, Slyvan, Richland, WI. Joshua Ewing is also buried at this site. Additional Comments: Note: Censuses transcribed as found without fixing spelling errors. Joshua Ewing and his brother, Elias Ewing married Brown sisters: Nancy and Rose Ann.
