The Family of Abraham Darling 1794 - 1872
------------------------------------------
Abraham was born 28 November, 1794 in Hardy County, Virginia. He was the 
third son of Robert and Mary Catherine Passence Darling. When his brothers, 
William and Jonathan, left to fight in the War of 1812, Abraham rode up to 
Sanduski, Ohio, to bring them some stockings.
Abraham married Harriet Riley on 10 June, 1824 in Knox County, Ohio. She 
was born 22 September, 1804, a daughter of Nicholas Riley and Hannah 
Shrimplin. Harriet died 19 February, 1870 in Knox County. Abraham became 
Director of the Infirmary of Knox County, and served for the years: 1844, 
1846 and 1848. He died 28 March, 1872 in Knox County. Harriet and Abraham 
were the parents of nine children:
	
	1. William Darling, born 25 September, 1825 in Fredericktown, Knox 
	County, Ohio. He married Sophronia (Saprona) Willis on 15 October, 
	1857. Sophronia was born 11 June, 1835 in Wayne Twp., Knox County, 
	Ohio.  William died 3 September, 1887 and Sophronia in 1926. Both 
	were laid to rest at the Fredericktown Cemeter in Knox County ,Ohio. 
	Their son, Herbert Stanton Darling, became a famous MD. Herbert was
	a well respected and most beloved doctor who died early in his 
	career. He was born on 17 January, 1862 in Fredericktown, Knox 
	County, Ohio. On 11 April, 1883, he married Florence Hellibaugh. 
	Herbert died on 16 March, 1911. 

	2. Mary (Polly) Darling. She never married.

	3. Nicholas Riley Darling, born 7 January, 1830 in Fredericktown, 
	Knox County, Ohio.
	He married Margaret Ellen Bricker on 22 December, 1864. Margaret was 
	born in July, 1836. Nicholas died 1908. On 7 October, 1880, they 
	found a little Baby boy, in a basket on their doorstep. 
	They named him Edward V. Darling. They were in the process of 
	adopting the child, when he died, at the age of three months.
   
	4. Hannah Eleanor Darling

	5. Katheryn Darling, born 17 April, 1834 in Fredericktown, 
	Knox County, Ohio. She married Isaac LaFever on 8 April, 1857. 
	He died on 1 July, 1913 and Katheryn on 11 November, 1920 in Knox 
	County. 

	6. Margaret Jane Darling, born 17 August, 1836 in Knox County, Ohio. 
	She married Henry K. Ebersole on 29 January, 1896. 
	Henry was born 19 November, 1837. He died 8 March, 1884. Margaret 
	died on 15 July, 1924. 

	7. Harriet Eliza Darling, born 11 May, 1839 in Fredericktown, Knox 
	County, Ohio.
	She married David Rinehard of 18 December, 1861. 
	David was born 29 November,1839 and died 18 September, 1913. 
	Harriet died on 26 February, 1913 in Knox County.

	8. Sarah Jane (Sadie) Darling, born 29 December, 1842 in 
	Fredericktown, Knox County, Ohio. She married Harrison Farriss 
	on 30 October, 1867. Harrison was born in 1841 and died on 16 April, 
	1916. Sarah died 12 April, 1919 in Knox County, Ohio. 

	9. Robert Dallas Darling, born 20 July, 1845 in Fredericktown, 
	Knox County, Ohio. He married Clotilla Lyon on 14 December, 1870. 
	Clotilla was born 14 December, 1846. Robert died on 2 July, 1910 in 
	Wayne Twp., Knox County and Clotilla died October, 1934 in 
	Fredericktown.
