D Va who was a pensioner under the Act of 1832 and who died on the 18th of August 1837 Licking County ohio who was a Private of Artillary in the Comp G commanded by Capt Brown of the Regt. by Col. Buchanan in the Virginia line for the commonwelth. Inscribed on the roll of Ohio of the rate of $25.00 for annum to commence on the 4th day of March 1836. Certificate of Pensions issued the 10th day of January 1840 and sent Walter Thrall, Granville, Ohio. Arrears to the 4th Sept 1839, $51.00 Semi_annual allowance ending 4 March 1840 $12.50. Act of July 7th 1838 Recorded by D D Addison clerk book A Vol 2a page 219 ________________________________________________________________________________ __ Ohio 22.602 Thomas Perkins of Licking County in the state of Ohio who was a Private in the Company commanded by Captain Brown of the Regt. commanded by Col Buchanan of the Virginia line for Six Months in the artillery ________________________________________________________________________________ __ Certificate of Pension issued 10th day of Nov 1833 and sent to J D Huston Martinsburg, Ohio arrears to the 4th Sept 1833 $50.50 semi annual allowance ending 4 March 1834 $ 12.50 Revolutionary Claim act June 7, 1832 Recorded by William R Palmer clerk Book E Vol 8 Page 20 ________________________________________________________________________________ __ Mary wrote this declaration: In order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress of the 7th July 1838 entitled an Act granting half pay and pensions to certain widows. The State of ohio Licking county On this 28th day of September 1838 personall appeared before me Samuel Brancroft one of the judges of the court of Common Pleas within and for said County of Licking Mary Perkins a resident of the said County of Licking aged 82 years who being first duly sworn according to law doth on her oath make the folowing delclaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the act of Congress passed july 7th 1838 entitled an Act granting half pay and pensions to certain widows. That she is the Widow of Thomas Perkins who was a private in the Army of the Revolution and was a pensioner under the law of June 7th 1832. That he had for twenty years resided in this County. She further declares that she was married to said Thomas Perkins on the eighth of March Seventeen hundred and Eighty three. That her husband the said Thomas Perkins died on the 18th March 1837. That she was not married to him prior to his leaving the service but the marriage took place previous to the first of January Sebentee hundred and ninty four. VIs at the time above stated that she has never since been married. And she know of no record proff of her marriage Sworn to and subscribed on the day and year above written before me signed: Mary Perkins her mark X Samuel Brancroft one of the judges of the Court of Common Pleas for said County ________________________________________________________________________________ _ The State of Ohio County Of Licking Be it known that Samuel Trigg of said County Of Licking aged over Sixty years (exact age not known) ersonally approved before the subscriber a Notary Public in and for the said County and being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath depose and say that he is the brother of the applicand Said Mary Perkins, that he was at the wedding of said Mary Perkins to said Thomas Perkins and although he cannot recollect the exact time, yet he thinks it cannot vary much if any from the time she so states, he is sure it was after the Revolutionary War and before the year 1794 they had a large family and that she has never since been married. his mark X Samuel Trigg Sworn to and subscribed before me this 6th day of October 1838 and I am informed and that the said Samuel Trigg is a man of truth and entitled to belief. Walter Thall Notary Public. ________________________________________________________________________________ ___ The State of Ohio Licking County Michael Fry of Franklin Township Licking County and State of Ohio aged about sixty four years. Personally appeard before the subscriber a Notary Public in and for said County and being duly sworn desposed and says that he has been accquainted with Thomas Perkins deceased late a pensioner of the Unithed States and with Mary Perkins Widow of said Thomas (who is now applying for a pension) ever since about the close of the Revolutionary War that he lived in the neighborhood with them in Berkley County Va. for about twenty years after the close of the War. That he knew by report that they were married soon after said War that he knew eight of their children. and that he has know them ever since. that he was accquainted with the Reverend Mr. Jerret who married them. And he is very confident that they were lawfully married or near the month of March in seventeen hundred and eighty three. as he so states, sometime after my brother married her sister.. signed Michael Fry his mark X Sworn to an subscribed this 15th day of August A D 1839 before me and I further certify that deponent is a man worthy of belief and of veoacity.
