Bedell of this city has received word from Columbus telling of the death of Mrs. Beddell’s brother, Mr. William Brokaw of Centerburg. The full details were not given but his death was very sudden. In company with Mr. Cole of Centerburg, the deceased, who was connected with the Centerburg Building and Loan Association, went to Columbus on business Thursday. Thursday evening Mr. Brokaw went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. Welsch at Columbus, who were friends, to stay over night. Friday morning it is said Mr. Brokaw arose ate breakfast and then went upstairs. A few minutes later he was found lying on the floor of the room he occupied over night, cold in death. It is supposed heart failure was the cause of his demise. The body will be taken to Centerburg Friday evening. A wife, a son, and several brothers and sisters survive.
